Graduate - Manufacturing Operations & Supply Chain 2025
Premier Foods Manufacturing Operations and Supply Chain Graduate Scheme 2025
Each placement will be completed in different locations across the UK and will involve travel throughout.
This is an 'Operations and Supply Chain' graduate scheme where successful candidates will initially complete a corporate induction with the entire graduate cohort before moving to a rotational plan that includes two 9-month placements at a cake factory and a grocery factory, supporting respective teams in delivering KPIs.
Starting point - Corporate Induction, Head Office & a Manufacturing location (4 weeks):
- Gain a broad overview of our company structure; including commercial/finance and procurement functions, along with an introduction to our Brands and Values.
- Complete legal training and cover compliance requirements around IT, HR, and people policies.
- Spend 2 weeks in one or two of our factories to gain an in-depth understanding of manufacturing and day-to-day processes, helping us deliver products to customers on time and in full. This includes hands-on experience on manufacturing lines to understand our products and processes.
Placements one and two (9 months each):
- Work within manufacturing/production teams to achieve KPIs for manufacturing products.
- Collaborate with CI Teams to improve processes on manufacturing lines, supporting existing lines and new product development.
- Support our Technical Teams with Food Safety knowledge.
- Provide on-line and project support within our Engineering team at one of our six manufacturing locations.
- Lead as a Team Leader within manufacturing and production teams, managing daily operations and gaining leadership experience.
- Participate in regular 121s, Thrive Conversations, and discussions on Career and Wellbeing.
- Handle disciplinaries, investigations, and absence reviews as needed.
- Maintain discipline within the team and exemplify Premier Foods’ Values and behaviors.
- Report on daily/weekly/monthly KPIs to drive improvements and meet/exceed production targets.
What we expect from you:
- Degree in engineering, manufacturing, or a science-related discipline.
- Some industry work experience.
- Understanding of the UK FMCG/retail sectors.
- Right to work in the UK.
- Ownership of your learning and commitment to the scheme and your role.
- Team player mentality.
- Willingness to travel as required.
- High numeracy and accuracy.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
- Willingness to undertake formal professional qualifications with relevant Chartered Bodies or similar.
- UK driving license (extensive travel required).
