Job summary

Armstrong Fluid Technology in Manchester is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to design and improve pump assembly, test and skid-build operations.

You will lead layout, flow and capacity initiatives, develop standard work and drive CAPEX planning while collaborating with design, quality and production teams to meet ambitious production goals and sustainability targets. The role requires hands-on shop floor leadership, strong Lean capability, and translating forecasts into practical capacity plans.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in Manufacturing/Mechanical/Industrial Engineering.
• Experience in pump or rotating equipment assembly is advantageous.
• Lean tools and process improvement experience.
• ISO 9001 knowledge and controlled documentation is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Develop, evaluate and improve layouts for pump assembly, testing and skid-build operations.
• Undertake process mapping and time studies to improve flow, cycle times and productivity.
• Lead the establishment of a dedicated skid-build area in the Manchester facility.
• Define the production process from component receipt to final release, including SOPs and quality controls.
• Develop CAPEX requirements and business cases for equipment, tooling and test capability.
• Apply Lean manufacturing principles to improve flow, quality and waste reduction.
