Graduate Learning Support Assistant

Location: New Barnet
Start: Immediate
Pay: Up to £600 per week (Term Time Only, Full-Time, Long-Term Contract)

Are you considering a career in Educational Psychology, Speech and Language Therapy, or Teaching?

This highly regarded secondary school in New Barnet is offering an exciting opportunity to join their inclusive, supportive team as a Graduate Learning Support Assistant (LSA).

The Role

As a Graduate Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with:

  • Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
  • Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH)
  • Communication and interaction difficulties

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing 1:1 and small group support in and out of class, helping students access the curriculum
  • Supporting emotional regulation, social skills development, and positive behaviour strategies
  • Implementing individualised education plans (IEPs) and contributing to progress reviews
  • Collaborating closely with teachers, the SENCo, and external professionals such as Educational Psychologists and Speech and Language Therapists
  • Creating a safe, supportive environment where students feel valued and understood
  • Keeping accurate records of interventions and progress
Ideal Candidate

We are looking for an enthusiastic, empathetic and resilient graduate who:

  • Holds a degree (Psychology, Education, English, Linguistics or related fields are advantageous)
  • Has a genuine interest in working with young people with SEND
  • Demonstrates strong communication, organisation and interpersonal skills
  • Is proactive, reflective and eager to learn

Experience working with children or young people (voluntary or paid) is desirable but not essential – training will be provided.

Progression & Development
