Job summary

KPI Education is partnering with a Chester-based SEN school to recruit a Graduate Learning Mentor for a September 2026 start. The role focuses on providing academic, pastoral and emotional support to students with diverse SEN needs, under the guidance of teachers and SEN professionals.

The successful candidate will help pupils overcome barriers to learning, build confidence and develop independence, gaining hands-on experience in learning, behaviour and emotional wellbeing within a supportive

Qualifications

• Degree in Psychology or related field desirable.
• Previous experience working with SEN essential.
• Experience supporting children or young people.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to students with SEN.
• Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils.
• Support students' academic, social and emotional development.
• Identify and address barriers to learning and engagement.
• Implement individualised learning and behaviour strategies.
• Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour.
• Encourage confidence, resilience and independence.
• Assist with classroom learning, organisation and independent work.
• Monitor engagement, behaviour and progress.
• Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs and other education professionals.
• Contribute to individual support plans and progress reviews.
• Promote a safe, inclusive and positive learning environment.
