Job summary

Arup is seeking a Graduate Infrastructure Mechanical Engineer in Manchester. You will design mechanical systems for essential infrastructure, perform calculations and modelling, and collaborate across disciplines to deliver safe, operable equipment.

Ideal candidates hold a relevant bachelor's degree and have strong numeracy with Excel, plus a willingness to learn and grow within a global engineering consultancy known for sustainable built environments.

The Opportunity

Infrastructure Mechanical Engineers deliver design and consulting services for the vital infrastructure that makes modern life possible.

Our work is very varied and crosses industry sectors. In the water sector, we deliver potable andwastewatertreatment, pumping stations, reservoirs and flood defences. We work in energy markets focussing on industrial decarbonisation technologies like energy storage, hydrogen, steam generation, carbon capture and renewable energy. We support the development of nuclear infrastructure, manufacturing facilities and process plants through integrated mechanical and piping system designs.

We design new systems, improve existing asset performance and are actively pursuing more sustainable infrastructure for the societies we live and work within.

For this opportunity, we are seeking the following qualifications, skills and attributes: A bachelor's degree in relevant academic discipline, such as Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics / Robotics Engineering; Aeronautical Engineering; Aerospace Engineering.

Skills and experience we look for: strong numeracy (Mathematics) and working proficiency in Excel
