Job Description

Graduate HV Engineer / Graduate High Voltage Engineers are required for secondment into Northern Powergrid. To be considered for this career-building opportunity, you must have:

  1. A BEng or MSc / MEng in an Electrical Engineering subject (such as Electrical and Electronic, Electrical Power and Energy Systems, Power Systems).
  2. Studied modules related to high voltage engineering.
  3. Experience using AutoCAD and power systems software (e.g., DigSilent, IPSA, or ETAP).

Having a driving licence is beneficial. The role involves designing LV and 11kV connections, so some experience in HV network / power distribution design would be advantageous. Strong theoretical knowledge of HV networks and the first principles of electrical engineering are required. This is an excellent opportunity to kickstart a career in the UK HV engineering sector.
