Graduate Humanities Academic Mentor – Islington Secondary School – Full-Time – September 2025 Start – Earn Up to £600 Per Week

A high-performing secondary school in the heart of Islington is seeking a dedicated Graduate Humanities Academic Mentor to join their vibrant team from September 2025.

The Role – Graduate Humanities Academic Mentor

As a Graduate Humanities Academic Mentor, you’ll work closely with both students and teachers to enhance academic outcomes across a range of Humanities subjects, including History, Geography, Religious Studies, and Philosophy. You will play a key role in encouraging student engagement, boosting subject knowledge, and helping pupils develop the academic skills necessary for success at GCSE and A-Level.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Providing focused academic support through 1:1 and small-group sessions
  • Assisting with classroom learning, resource development, and revision strategies
  • Helping students refine essay writing, source analysis, and exam techniques
  • Collaborating with Humanities staff to identify and address individual learning needs
  • Promoting critical thinking, discussion, and curiosity in and out of the classroom

We are looking for a motivated and intellectually curious individual who is excited to explore a career in education. The ideal Graduate Humanities Academic Mentor will offer:

  • A degree 2:1 or above in a Humanities-related subject (e.g., History, Politics, Geography, Philosophy, or Classics)
  • A passion for the Humanities and a strong academic foundation
  • Excellent communication skills and a confident, empathetic approach to working with students
  • Adaptability, resilience, and a willingness to learn from experienced educators
  • Prior experience working with young people through tutoring, mentoring, or voluntary roles (preferred but not essential)
