Job summary

UK Atomic Energy Authority invites graduates to join the Graduate Development Programme, offering hands-on software development for HPC/HTC and a chance to contribute to fusion energy research.

You will develop algorithms, workflows and computational tools while collaborating with experts across UKAEA, academia and industry, and you’ll gain skills in AI, machine learning and advanced computing.

Qualifications

• Degree in CS/Math/Physics/Engineering (2025–2027).
• Strong appetite to learn and take on new challenges.
• Able to collaborate effectively and communicate with technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Develop software, algorithms and workflows for HPC/HTC environments to advance fusion research.
• Build computational tools and software solutions for complex engineering and scientific challenges.
• Gain hands-on experience in software development, data analysis and emerging tech, including AI/ML and advanced computing.
