AECOM is seeking a Graduate Highway Engineer to join our infrastructure team in the UK. You’ll receive mentoring from experienced engineers and build a strong foundation in highway engineering and digital delivery.
You’ll contribute to highway designs, attend site visits and develop technical drawings and reports using AutoCAD and Civil 3D, while progressing toward professional accreditation.

As a Graduate Highway Engineer, you’ll be supported by experienced engineers who will provide guidance and mentoring as you develop your technical knowledge and professional skills. You’ll work on live projects and receive structured training to help you build a strong foundation in highway engineering and infrastructure design.
Your initial responsibilities will typically include supporting the development of highway designs and technical solutions through different project stages, attending site visits, meetings and workshops, and working collaboratively with clients and other design professionals.
You’ll receive training in relevant engineering, design and digital engineering software, which may include AutoCAD, Civil 3D and other highway design and modelling software, depending on project requirements. You’ll also develop your understanding of digital engineering and BIM processes and how these are applied to the design and delivery of infrastructure projects.
As your experience and confidence grow, you’ll take on increasing responsibility for project tasks and technical deliverables, with opportunities to contribute to projects from inception through to completion.

Our Highway Engineering graduates also have opportunities to work alongside our Traffic Engineering and Transportation teams on major infrastructure projects. Working collaboratively across different disciplines provides exposure to a broad range of projects and helps you develop a well-rounded understanding of transportation, highway design and infrastructure delivery.
