Escape Recruitment is supporting an established organisation in Scotland to recruit a Graduate Health, Safety & Environmental Officer. The role offers hands-on experience across operational sites and progression under an experienced SHE Manager.

You'll assist with risk assessments, incident reporting and maintaining HSE management systems, while developing practical knowledge of safety legislation and environmental compliance.

Escape Recruitment is working with an established organisation looking to appoint a Graduate Health, Safety & Environmental Officer to join its SHE team.

This is an opportunity for someone who has completed a relevant degree and wants to put their academic knowledge into practice, gaining hands‑on experience across operational sites.

Working directly with an experienced SHE Manager, you'll receive guidance and support while gradually taking responsibility for safety, health and environmental activities.

What you'll be doing

• Supporting workplace risk assessments and safe working procedures.
• Assisting with accident, incident and near‑miss reporting.
• Helping maintain health, safety and environmental management systems.
• Supporting internal audits, inspections and compliance checks.

What we're looking for

Essential:

• A completed degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Health, Environmental Management or a closely related HSE discipline.
• A genuine interest in developing a career within workplace health, safety and environmental management.
• A good academic understanding of risk assessment, safety legislation and HSE principles.
• Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and confidence communicating with different teams.
• The ability to manage assigned tasks, follow through on actions and meet deadlines.
• Willingness to travel between operational sites when required.

Desirable:

• Relevant industrial placement, internship or work experience.
• Exposure to workplace risk assessments, audits or safety inspections.
• NEBOSH qualification, although this is not essential for graduates with a suitable degree.
