Stem Solutions in Guildford is seeking ambitious graduates to join our team in the summer of 2027. The role targets individuals with strong academic records in engineering, and knowledge across FPGA/VHDL, PCB design, and embedded C/C++.

Ideal candidates will possess excellent communication skills and the ability to work on challenging, high-performance data processing projects for government agencies and technology firms.

Qualifications

• Solid academic background with high 2:1 or First in engineering or PhD.
• A-levels with top grades (A/A* or equivalent) in Maths and Physics.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge in FPGA development using VHDL; PCB design and layout; embedded C/C++ development.

Responsibilities

• Simulate and implement signal, image, or data processing algorithms in VHDL for FPGAs.
• Design PCBs with FPGAs, SoCs, high-speed interfaces, and RF/analogue filtering.
• Perform schematic capture using OrCAD and manage PCB layout, fabrication and assembly subcontractors.
• Set up PCBs, including writing test firmware and software.
• Develop Linux device drivers for hardware.
