Job summary

Cundall invites applications for a Graduate Geotechnical Engineer role starting in September 2027. You will work on design analyses, site investigations, and geotechnical solutions for diverse UK projects, collaborating with civil and structural teams across Education, Healthcare, Industrial and Residential sectors.

You’ll develop skills in detailed calculations, risk assessments, and geotechnical design while progressing toward Chartership.

Qualifications

• On target to achieve at least a 2:2 degree.
• Accredited with or on course to achieve a BEng/MEng degree level in Geotechnical Engineering (or related subject).
• Have a real passion for great geotechnical design and analysis for the built environment; work placement/internship is a plus.
• Desire for personal and professional development; ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Understanding of Grasshopper or Dynamo, or at least one modern programming language (e.g. Python, C#, VB).
• Organised and methodical in task management; good communication with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Carry out detailed geotechnical calculations and analysis.
• Prepare site investigations and risk assessments.
• Formulate geotechnical designs (shallow strips/pads, piled foundations, slope stability).
• Specification and procurement support; progress toward Chartership.
