Overview

The Vacancy: RSK Geosciences is recruiting a Graduate Geotechnical Engineer to join the team based in Coventry. This is a full-time, permanent position. The Geosciences team provides consultancy and design services to external clients including engineers, house-builders, oil companies and local authorities. Responsibilities
  • Running and/or supporting Phase I & II geo-environmental ground investigations for all scales of projects and site types with senior support as necessary
  • Undertaking site works using a variety of intrusive investigation methods
  • Soil logging to current UK standards, including laboratory scheduling
  • Writing factual and interpretative reports
  • Supervising remediation and earthworks projects (training provided)
  • Undertaking geotechnical design, analysis and modelling (training provided)
  • Developing project management skills within the team working alongside more experienced personnel
  • Liaising with clients, regulators and internal specialists (as necessary)
  • Full UK Driving Licence
Qualifications
  • Required: BSc degree or equivalent qualification in Geology, Engineering Geology, Applied Geology, Mining Geology, Soil Mechanics and Geotechnics or a related subject
  • Desirable: MSc or postgraduate diploma in Engineering Geology / Applied Geology / Mining Geology / Geotechnical Engineering or Soil / Rock Mechanics (not essential)
  • Desirable: Working toward Chartered Geologist, Scientist or Engineer with a relevant professional body
  • Desirable: 1–2 years’ experience within the industry as a Consultant or Ground Investigation practitioner
  • Full UK Driving Licence
