Qualifications

  • MSc in Geotechnical Engineering preferred; minimum 2 years post-graduate experience required.
  • Experience with Holebase and hydrogeological modelling is advantageous.

Job description

Due to a healthy forward workload, we are currently looking to appoint an experienced Graduate Geotechnical Engineer to join the Edinburgh Office. The successful candidate will have a fantastic opportunity to work on a variety of projects spanning the renewable energy, transportation, industrial, retail, residential and commercial sectors.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Site walkovers and foundation inspections
  2. Data collection, manipulation and interpretation of both geotechnical and chemical data as part of site investigations for a wide range of schemes
  3. Preparation of Geotechnical Desk Studies and Interpretative Reports
  4. Design, Procurement and Supervision of Site Investigations
  5. Undertake detailed geotechnical analysis and design e.g. foundation design, retaining wall and slope stability assessments etc, in accordance with the Eurocodes
  6. Preparation of Mining Risk Assessments and Remediation Strategies
  7. Site support and monitoring activities on construction contracts
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE
  1. An MSc in Geotechnical Engineering would be advantageous
  2. Two years post-graduate experience is the minimum requirement
  3. Holebase experience an advantage
  4. Hydrogeological modelling experience an advantage
  5. Good report writing and communication skills required
  6. Flexible and enthusiastic approach to working within a team structure
  7. Confidence and ability to maximise the level of responsibility taken on projects, small and large
