Job description

The role

As a Graduate Geospatial Analyst, you will provide GIS input into projects across various internal service areas and technical disciplines, including but not limited to planning, ecology, engineering, landscape, energy and climate change, archaeology and heritage, and infrastructure projects. Your work will be varied and include:

  • Georeferencing and digitising map data
  • Creating maps and drawings for reports
  • Preparing teams for site data collection using applications like ESRI Field Maps or Survey123
  • Maintaining data in ArcGIS Online
  • Creating, capturing, managing, and analyzing GIS data from multiple sources and formats
  • Performing geoprocessing using GIS software such as ESRI ArcGIS and QGIS
  • Working within a team to deliver projects on time and within budget
  • Adhering to QA processes and standards for data management and outputs
  • Participating actively in team resource calls, supervision, and knowledge sharing to ensure smooth GIS team operations

About You

  • A degree in GIS, Geography, or a related field
  • Proficiency in ESRI ArcGIS Pro
  • Experience with geodatabases
  • Familiarity with ArcGIS Online applications like Field Maps and Survey123
  • Knowledge of UK environmental and Ordnance Survey datasets
  • Experience in geospatial analysis and data management in GIS environments (ArcGIS, QGIS)
  • Ability to produce high-quality cartographic outputs
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to high standards
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, Access)
