Job summary

Calibre Search is recruiting a Graduate Geologist for a specialist Engineering Geology consultancy in Manchester. You will work on ground investigation and engineering geology projects across building and infrastructure sectors, gaining hands-on experience.

The role offers early responsibility within a supportive team, with opportunities to develop skills in geo-environmental and geotechnical disciplines, including Phase 1 desk studies, Phase 2 investigations, logging, and technical reporting.

Qualifications

• A degree in Geology, Engineering Geology, or related Geoscience.
• Interest in Engineering Geology, ground investigation, and contaminated land.
• Strong attention to detail and report-writing skills.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to sites.
• The right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Deliver ground investigation and engineering geology projects.
• Support and design Phase 1 Desk Studies.
• Assist with Phase 2 ground investigations design and supervision.
• Soil and rock logging to BS5930/Eurocode 7.
• On-site supervision of drilling, trial pits and in-situ testing.
• Contribute to technical reports and contaminated land risk assessments.
