Penguin Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Graduate Geoenvironmental Engineer in St Albans to join a well-established environmental consultancy delivering soil, groundwater, and geotechnical solutions across the UK.

You will gain hands-on experience through structured graduate training, mentoring, and exposure to residential, commercial, and infrastructure projects, while building technical and professional skills and developing long-term career prospects.

Qualifications

• Degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Civil Engineering, or related field.
• Interest in contaminated land and geoenvironmental consultancy.
• Understanding of ground investigations and risk assessment principles.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to travel for site work across the UK.
• Full UK driving licence and right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Assist with Phase 1 Preliminary Risk Assessments and Desk Studies.
• Support Phase 2 intrusive ground investigations.
• Conduct soil and rock logging, sampling, groundwater/gas monitoring.
• Coordinate environmental and geotechnical lab testing.
• Interpret site data and assist risk assessments.
• Support remediation strategies and earthworks assessments.
• Prepare factual and interpretative technical reports.
• Maintain health and safety standards on site.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, and project teams.
