Job summary

Airbus is offering a two-year Global Graduate Programme for a Graduate Fluid Mechanical Design Engineer. The role focuses on designing test rigs for Landing Gear or Fuel Systems and involves end-to-end development, cross-functional rotations, and exposure to a range of technologies.

Qualifications

• Degree in Fluid Mechanics, Mechanical or Aerospace engineering.
• Recently graduated or first professional experience in Fluid Mechanical Design.
• Proficient in English; strong written and verbal communication.
• Desire to work in a collaborative team environment.

Responsibilities

• Support the design of fluid mechanical test rigs for Landing Gear or Fuel Systems of Airbus next aircraft programmes or development of existing families.
• End-to-end life cycle of test rig development from requirements to design, manufacturing/integration and validation.
• Use design tools such as CATIA V5 and work with fibre optics, vacuum systems, pitch/roll tables and instrumentation to measure pressure, flow, vibration and temperature.
• Learn the end-to-end process for developing a test rig and develop understanding of the Landing Gear and Fuel System operation.
• Gain experience in a non-office environment with hazards such as Jet Fuel, Hydraulic Fluids, hot/cold surfaces, noise and high voltage.
• Rotational placements to see other areas of System Integration test department including software development, avionic testing, flight test analysis and facility operations.
