Job summary

Brandon James is recruiting a Graduate Fire Engineer to join a specialist fire safety consultancy. You will support delivery of fire engineering and building safety services, contributing to practical, compliant solutions for diverse projects.

Training and mentorship from experienced engineers, exposure to fire strategies, risk assessments and reports will help you develop technical expertise and progress toward chartership within the Built Environment.

Qualifications

• A degree in Fire Engineering, Fire Safety Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• An interest in fire safety, building regulations and the built environment.
• An understanding of fire engineering principles and relevant UK legislation.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
• A willingness to learn and develop within a specialist consultancy.
• The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist in producing fire strategies for new-build and existing buildings.
• Support fire risk assessments and fire safety reviews.
• Contribute to technical reports and fire engineering assessments.
• Review architectural drawings and building designs against relevant fire safety guidance.
• Develop an understanding of Approved Document B, BS 9999 and relevant building regulations.
• Liaise with architects, contractors and other construction professionals.
• Support senior engineers with site inspections and technical advice.

The Graduate Fire Engineer's Role
