Job summary

MF Recruitment Limited is seeking an ambitious entry-level accountant to join our growing financial services team. This early-career role is suited for graduates with numerical degrees or those with up to 18 months in financial accounting, and it includes support for ACCA studies.

You will assist with statutory accounts, external audits, FCA reporting, and VAT/corporation tax returns, while engaging in ongoing finance projects.

Qualifications

• Recent graduate with a numerical-based degree or 12–18 months in financial accounting/reporting.
• Strong Excel skills and a keenness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the production of statutory accounts for group entities.
• Assist with external audits and day-to-day audit activities.
• Support monthly, quarterly and annual FCA regulatory reporting.
• Assist with IFRS treatments and M&A activity.
• Assist with VAT and corporation tax returns.
• Contribute to ongoing projects within financial reporting and the wider finance team.

Are you someone at the early stages of their career seeking their 1st or 2nd role?

This is a great opportunity to join a private equity backed successful and growing financial services business. Working within a team of 6 within financial reporting this role provides broad coverage and will support your ACCA studies.

The role

• Assist in the production of statutory accounts for all group entities
• Assist with the external audit process and day to day audit activities
• Assist with monthly, quarterly and annual FCA regulatory reporting
• Support on technical accounting matters such as keeping abreast of new IFRS treatments and supporting any new M&A activity
• Assist with the preparation of VAT and corporation tax returns
• Assist with ongoing projects within financial reporting/wider finance team

Your profile

• You could be a recent graduate within a numerical based degree or have 12-18 months experience within financial accounting/reporting and seeking the next step in your financial reporting career
• Good knowledge of excel and keen to learn
• Ability to build strong relationships within the team and also with external stakeholders

At the start of your employment, this will be more office based but shortly it will be a hybrid role with 1 to 2 days per week office based and rest from home.
