Job summary

Staines Search Ltd in Erith is seeking a Graduate Estimating Assistant to join the commercial team. You'll gain hands-on experience, learn from experienced estimators, and develop your skills in project estimation, tender submissions and cost analysis.

This entry-level role offers training, a starting salary of £28,000–£30,000 with structured progression and exposure to high-value construction projects. You'll work with Excel and estimating software, review drawings and specs, and accompany site

Qualifications

• HNC, HND or Degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Building Studies, Mathematics, Engineering or a related discipline
• Strong Excel skills and confidence working with data and numbers
• Excellent attention to detail and analytical thinking
• A genuinely curious and technically minded approach
• Strong communication skills and the confidence to build relationships with clients, suppliers and colleagues
• A genuine desire to learn and develop within a commercial construction environment

Responsibilities

• Assisting with the preparation of project estimates and tender submissions
• Reviewing technical drawings, specifications and project documentation
• Producing quantity take-offs and cost analyses using Excel and estimating software
• Gathering and analysing supplier and subcontractor quotations
• Supporting the development of accurate project pricing models and commercial proposals
• Attending site visits and client meetings to gain a deeper understanding of project delivery
• Working closely with senior estimators and commercial managers on live projects

What You'll Be Doing

As part of a supportive and experienced team, you'll receive full training while developing the technical and commercial skills needed to become a successful Estimator.
