Job description

Neo Environmental, an award-winning planning and environmental consultancy, have an exciting opportunity for a Graduate Environmental Engineer to join our expanding team working on projects in the UK and Ireland.

The successful candidate will ideally have relevant experience in the Renewables sector, although this is not essential. For the right candidate this position offers excellent career progression and development with the chance to flourish in a specialist professional environment.

The successful candidate will work on a wide variety of projects, with the main focus on renewable energy developments. You will be given plenty of opportunity to develop your skills and expertise through ongoing mentoring and training in a friendly environment.

The ideal candidate will have an excellent technical focus as well as report writing ability in order to contribute to the delivery of technical reports for planning stages of projects.

Duties

  • Conducting various technical assessments for projects
  • Providing support to Senior Environmental/Engineering Consultants
  • Use of various industry and in-house software packages
  • Undertaking site visits and attending client meetings
  • Engaging with other in-house multi-disciplinary team members
  • Liaising with clients, local authorities and statutory consultees

Essential Criteria

  • Degree educated in Environmental Engineering or similar (will consider hydrology, acoustics or transport)
  • An ability to work independently when necessary and meet tight deadlines under pressure, whilst maintaining attention to detail and working to the highest standards
  • Full driving license
  • Must be flexible and willing to travel
  • Own transport

Desirable Criteria

  • Good knowledge and understanding of UK legislation
  • Demonstrable high level of technical competence gained in a consultancy environment
  • Experienced in GIS and other software packages
