Overview

Closing Date: 2025-10-13; Job Title: Graduate Environmental Advisor; Location: Falmer (Hybrid Working); Salary: from £35k.

Working as part of the Enabling Team within Engineering Technical Services (ETS), you'll support the delivery of clean water and wastewater projects from design through to construction. You'll help manage environmental risk, conduct field surveys, and identify opportunities to enhance both the natural and built environment.

Responsibilities
  • Supporting environmental risk management across a wide range of engineering and infrastructure projects
  • Carrying out environmental surveys, assessments, and accurate reporting
  • Contributing to practical solutions to manage environmental risk and ensure compliance
  • Working closely with Project Managers, Engineers, Ecologists, and Environmental Advisors
  • Supporting stakeholder engagement and regulator relationships
  • Assisting in the design and implementation of mitigation strategies
  • Travelling to sites across the region - flexibility is key
  • Getting stuck into a mix of field and office-based work, sometimes outside of standard hours
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you'll need a degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, or a related discipline, along with strong written and analytical skills and a keen eye for detail. Ideally, you will have at least one year of experience in a similar role or through a relevant placement. Benefits

This role will be full time Monday to Friday 37 hours a week. Southern Water operate a hybrid approach to working between our offices and home. We are offering a salary from £35k per annum depending on skills and experience as well as other benefits including:
