Job summary

Amey invites applications for a Civil Engineer Graduate role based in Perth, Scotland. The two-year Graduate Pathway offers mentoring, structured learning, and a guaranteed permanent position on completion.

Starting salary is £30,000 per annum with a commitment to professional development and a supported progression pathway. Successful candidates will have a minimum 2:2 degree in Civil Engineering and a full UK driving licence.

Starting Salary: £30,000.00 per annum (Subject to review)

Location :Caledonian House, West Kinfauns, Perth. PH2 7XZ

Working hours per week: Monday to Friday, 9.00 am to 5.00 pm, 40 hours per week.

Start date : July 2027

Amey is working in partnership with Transport Scotland Northeast since August 2022, with an increased focus on supporting the creation of sustainable futures for communities, together we will achieve net zero targets and improve the customer experience. Covering 593Km of network, we provide routine highways, bridges and structure maintenance as well as designing and managing road safety schemes. By ensuring our roads and highways are well-maintained through all-weather seasons and traffic incidents, we aim to create well-functioning, safe spaces which minimise disruption, keep people moving and support thriving communities.

What you will do:

• Plan and undertake specialist investigations.
• Assist with preparing technical documents and reports.
• Maintain high technical standards consistent with the project scope/brief.
• Provide design and specialist advice in relevant specialisms, e.g. pavements.
• Use of Transport Scotland’s Asset Management Performance System (AMPS) for scheme identification, development and recording of maintenance intervention.
• Assist the project manager with project related correspondence from internal and external stakeholders.
• Assist the project manager with Technical Workshops to discuss complex schemes and treatment proposals.
• Ensure compliance with relevant Health and Safety Legislation (CDM2015).
• Ensure compliance at all times with the operating company's management system.
