Job description

Overview: We are currently recruiting a Graduate / Junior Energy Analyst who will provide a proactive approach to managing energy consumption for Arcus’ clients, and support the identification and resolution of issues causing excessive energy consumption.

Responsibilities
  1. Highlight energy reduction opportunities through reporting and communicating main findings and results to key stakeholders across the business and its clients.
  2. Analyse generation data from clients' technologies, and regularly report on and present to clients regarding energy and financial savings.
  3. Data analysis of energy consumption, maintenance history, and equipment telemetry.
  4. Calculate potential for energy savings.
  5. Model energy usage dependence on weather variables using regression analysis or similar.
  6. Engage with contractors to implement changes to reduce energy consumption.
  7. Engage with the client to highlight store process improvements to reduce energy consumption.
  8. Carry out root cause analysis to understand reasons behind energy consumption.
  9. Develop and implement processes to assist energy reduction.
  10. Identify opportunities to reduce energy consumption.
  11. Formal reporting of energy reduction results to the customer.
  12. Assist with the development of financial cases for energy saving initiatives.
  13. Work closely with clients to assist with their projects.
  14. Support with client requests as required.
Qualifications

The successful candidates will have experience with interpreting large data sets and using databases for trend analysis, and should be capable of undertaking complex technical analysis, and using Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and Python. Other requirements include:

  1. Degree qualified or equivalent in a suitable energy related subject. Common areas include Engineering, Physics, Maths, or any other STEM course.
  2. Highly organised, structured, and disciplined.
  3. Strong written and verbal communication skills and an ability to relay complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
Experience

Knowledge of building services, food retail operations, and renewable technologies preferable, but not necessary as training provided. The post holder must be able to work flexibly, and the role will sometimes require meetings at clients' offices and facilities. Able to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced and challenging environment.
