Job summary

Arup is seeking graduates for a multidisciplinary energy and infrastructure role. You will join a team delivering feasibility studies, optioneering and delivery support across renewable energy, storage, heat networks and hydrogen projects.

You will combine technical engineering with commercial awareness from early feasibility through design and operation stages. You will perform data analysis, research and modelling to compare options, participate in site visits, and coordinate with clients,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Chemical, Mechanical, or any engineering or numerate discipline.
• Interest in energy, decarbonisation and infrastructure is essential.
• Strong communication and numerical analysis skills.

The Opportunity

You’ll join a multidisciplinary team of engineers and consultants helping clients develop practical, investable and deliverable energy solutions. From your first projects, you’ll combine technical engineering with commercial awareness, working across the full project lifecycle from early feasibility and optioneering through design, procurement, construction support and operation.

• Support feasibility studies, technical due diligence and technology optioneering for renewable generation, energy storage, heat networks, hydrogen and low-carbon infrastructure.
• Undertake research, data analysis and technical modelling to compare options and inform decisions.
• Take part in site visits, surveys, design reviews and discussions with clients, contractors, technology suppliers and other specialists.
• Coordinate inputs from multidisciplinary teams and clearly communicate findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Contribute to project management, commercial activities, bids and the development of new services and tools.

Is this role right for you?

For this opportunity, we are seeking the following qualifications, skills and attributes: A bachelor's degree in relevant academic discipline, such as Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering; Mechanical Engineering; Any engineering or numerate degree.

Skills And Experience Interested In

• A genuine interest in energy, decarbonisation and infrastructure
• Sound engineering judgement and confidence working with numbers and data
• Clear written, verbal and visual communication
• A collaborative approach and willingness to seek, share and act on feedback
• Initiative, organisation and the ability to manage priorities
• Care and accuracy in your work

Technical skills such as experience knowledge of power systems; renewable generation.

Energy storage; heat networks; hydrogen; CCS; energy modelling; CAD; GIS; Python; MATLAB or data-visualisation tools would be useful, but we do not expect applicants to have experience in every area.

• Full working rights in the country of application.
• No more than 12 months of full-time experience in a comparable role.
• Recently graduated, or on track to graduate, from your most recent degree, related to your role of choice, before employment starts.
