Job summary

Hunter Savage is seeking a Graduate Electrical Engineer in Craigavon to join a growing controls team. You will gain hands-on experience in control panel wiring, PLC programming, electrical testing and commissioning of automation systems.

This role offers practical training across electrical controls, PLCs and automation, with exposure to motors, gearboxes and HMIs, and progression opportunities within a specialist controls and automation team.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in Electrical and Electronic Engineering.
• Recent graduates encouraged to apply.
• Basic understanding of PLC programming beneficial.
• Practical experience with electrical wiring or control panels is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Wire and assemble electrical control panels.
• Assist with programming of PLC and HMI systems.
• Support testing and fault finding of electrical control systems.
• Work with motors, VSDs, soft starters and switchgear.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
• Assist experienced engineers with automation projects.
• Provide technical support to customers when required.
• Attend occasional customer sites for installation and commissioning.
• Develop knowledge of the company’s electrical and automation products.

Job Title: Graduate Electrical Engineer

Description

We are exclusively hiring for our client, a specialist engineering company based in Craigavon, who are seeking a Graduate Electrical Engineer to join their growing controls department. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or junior engineer looking to build a career within electrical controls and automation. The successful candidate will gain practical experience across control panel wiring, PLC programming, electrical testing, fault finding and the commissioning of automation systems.

The company works with motors, gearboxes, variable speed drives, soft starters, switchgear, PLCs and HMIs. You will receive hands-on support and training while contributing to a variety of customer-led engineering projects.

The Role

The Person

• Degree, HND or equivalent qualification in Electrical and Electronic Engineering or a related discipline
• Recent graduates and junior HLA apprentices are encouraged to apply
• A basic understanding of PLC programming or control systems would be beneficial
• Practical experience with electrical wiring, control panels or university engineering projects would be advantageous
• Able to read electrical drawings or schematics
• Keen to develop a long-term career within electrical engineering and automation
• Practical, motivated and willing to learn
