Our client is a designer of high-quality MEP systems, providing a first-class service across various industry sectors including Healthcare, Residential, Commercial, Industrial, and more. This organisation is currently seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer with industry experience to join their expanding Edinburgh office. The company boasts a low staff turnover rate and offers opportunities to work on interesting, challenging, and high-end projects.

Your New Role

As a graduate electrical engineer, you will assist your team in ensuring the sustainability, efficiency, and safety of electrical systems across various building types. You will contribute to electrical design efforts across multiple client projects, working closely with the electrical team. Your responsibilities will include designing and delivering electrical design outputs such as drawings, specifications, and schedules.

Key Responsibilities
  • Designing building electrical systems within a consultancy environment
  • Producing detailed design calculations for electrical systems
  • Creating specifications
  • Preparing design notes and reports
  • Developing design drawings from conception to detailed design
  • Participating actively in all project stages from feasibility to completion across multiple sectors
Requirements
  • An accredited Building Services/Electrical Engineering degree or higher qualification
  • Working towards chartership
  • Passion for delivering electrical building services designs across various sectors
  • Experience in all stages of electrical design from concept to completion, under supervision
  • Proficiency with digital tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, Dialux, Amtech/Trimble, MS Office
  • Basic knowledge of technical standards and legislation for electrical services
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
