About the role

This is a fantastic opportunity for a recent Electrical Engineering graduate to develop alongside experienced engineers on real power, protection and energy projects. You'll build hands‑on expertise across design, analysis and testing while we support your professional development towards chartership. If you're analytical, curious and keen to apply your degree to live engineering challenges, we'd love to hear from you.

Key responsibilities
  • Support the design, analysis and testing of power systems, three‑phase circuits, transformers and high‑voltage equipment.
  • Assist with power network studies, including fault analysis, relay protection and load‑flow assessments.
  • Use engineering software and tools (MATLAB, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, ETAP, Python) to model and analyse electrical systems.
  • Prepare technical documentation, calculations and reports to a professional standard.
  • Work alongside senior engineers and multidisciplinary teams on live projects, learning best practice on site and in the office.
  • Apply electrical safety principles and follow relevant standards on every task.
What we're looking for
  • Strong academic foundation in Electrical Engineering, with knowledge of power systems, three‑phase circuits, transformers and high‑voltage equipment.
  • Understanding of power network operation and protection systems, including fault analysis, relay protection and electrical safety principles.
  • Proficiency in engineering software and technical tools, such as MATLAB, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, ETAP, Python and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills, with the ability to prepare technical documentation, analyse engineering data and work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
Nice to have
  • A relevant placement, internship or final‑year project in power systems or energy.
  • Awareness of UK standards such as BS 7671 and the G99 connection process.
  • Interest in renewable energy, grid connections or electric vehicle infrastructure.
What we offer
  • Competitive graduate salary of £28,000–£34,000 depending on experience.
  • Structured mentoring and a clear development path towards professional registration (IEng/CEng).
  • Funded training, qualifications and exposure to varied, real‑world projects.
  • 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, rising with service.
  • Workplace pension, sick pay scheme and regular team events.
