APEM Group is hiring a Graduate Ecology Data Technician to join its Data Team. This full-time role is based in Banbury and involves data analysis from bat surveys to support ecological assessments. The ideal candidate is a recent graduate with strong analytical skills in an environmental context, eager to learn and contribute to conservation efforts through innovative techniques.
About The Role

We’re looking for a Graduate Ecology Data Technician to join our dedicated in-house Data Team at Aspect Ecology. This is a full-time, permanent role based in our Oxfordshire office, ideal for someone with a background in biology, ecology or a related discipline who enjoys being desk-based working with data, problem-solving, and contributing to conservation through cutting-edge techniques.
In this role, you’ll help analyse and interpret the large datasets our field surveyors have collected from our Phase 2 bat surveys. These include both audio (sonograms) and video (infrared footage). You'll identify bat calls, assess bat behaviour, and present your findings in a format that feeds directly into ecological assessments and licence applications. Full training is provided—including enrolment on the industry-recognised BatAbility Certificate of Bat Acoustics (Analysis Technician Level) course.
