Job summary

Tetra Tech in Edinburgh is seeking a Graduate Ecologist to join our award-winning Ecology team on the Next Gen Talent development programme. You will gain hands-on field experience, training and mentoring while contributing to national projects across habitats and biodiversity.

Based in Edinburgh with flexible hybrid working, you’ll build technical and consultancy skills, work with senior ecologists, and progress toward Chartership while supporting a diverse range of projects from day one.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2:1 degree in ecology, conservation or related discipline.
• Be a student or qualifying member of CIEEM (or working towards).
• Good written and verbal communication.
• Willingness to travel and work flexible/unsociable hours.
• Valid UK driving licence (ideally with vehicle access).
• SC clearance and DBS check required.

Responsibilities

• Support habitat and protected species surveys in the field.
• Desktop studies and data analysis for robust ecological assessment.
• Assist in report writing and project documentation.
• Contribute to multidisciplinary projects across the wider business.
• Develop client-facing and professional consultancy skills with mentoring.
