An innovative company is seeking a motivated Graduate Ecologist to join their team on a 6-month hybrid contract. This role offers the chance to gain valuable experience in ecological consultancy, conducting surveys, and liaising with clients. Ideal for recent graduates or those with some experience, this position promises a supportive environment that fosters growth and development. Join a team committed to transforming society through sustainable solutions and make a meaningful impact on ecological practices.
Society is in your hands, what are you waiting for?
We are currently looking for a talented and motivated Graduate Ecologist to join our team on a 6-month fixed-term contract. This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience in ecological consultancy. This role is hybrid, typically requiring at least 3 days in the office or on site.
As a Graduate Ecologist, you will undertake ecological surveys (habitat surveys and surveys for legally protected species). Responsibilities include report writing, liaising with clients, contractors, and the public to support land use and ecology points for BREEM assessments. You will also produce habitat and survey plans and carry out Ecological Clerk of Works duties.
You should hold a degree in Ecology or a related subject; recent graduates or those with some experience are encouraged to apply. The position is based in Edinburgh or Glasgow, with travel to sites and other offices, so a full driver’s license is required.
Due to the nature of the work, some activities may require working outside normal hours, such as night surveys for bats or early morning/evening site visits for reptiles and mitigation.
You’ll experience an inclusive, friendly, and flexible working environment that encourages growth and development. This role offers a chance to contribute to societal transformation as a trusted consultant.
If you believe you have the required skills and are eager to join a company with genuine career progression opportunities, we would love to hear from you.
