Job Description:

A Graduate Development Engineer is sought to join the Engineering Development Team. The team supports the Business development team to ensure growth of existing district heating and cooling schemes, as well as securing new schemes through tenders or direct engagement with developers.

The Graduate Development Engineer will support activities such as:

1. Feasibility studies
2. Energy and Hydraulic modelling
3. Techno-economic appraisal for district heating and cooling networks across the UK

Specific Requirements:

• BEng / BSc Mechanical Engineering Degree (minimum 2:1)
• Experience with AutoCAD and Excel
• Understanding of the decentralised energy industry
• Ability to carry out energy, hydraulic, and techno-economic modelling
• Knowledge of concept design of energy centres and district heating network installations
• Understanding of sizing and specifying heating and cooling generation plant for district heating
• Familiarity with relevant standards and industry knowledge
• Teamwork, attention to detail, and strong communication skills
• Interest in CHP, Heat Pumps, district energy networks, and energy-saving technologies
• Problem-solving skills and interest in fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, and energy transfer
• Experience with project document control and adherence to health and safety policies

Desirable Qualifications:

• MEng / MSc Mechanical Engineering Degree
