The Role:
The Graduate Design Engineer will be supporting design engineers and test engineers designing and developing new and existing products and supporting product qualification processes.

The Graduate Design Engineer role will be centred around designing and developing IT enclosures. Working directly with internal and external customers to establish their requirements and managing design activities on multiple projects concurrently.

Design activities include product design and documentation, testing and validation, and design implementation.

The candidate will need to be confident working from customer specifications as well as creating designs from scratch.

Duties:
• The design and development of new products: primarily but not exclusively mechanical and sheet metal.
• Use of Creo & Windchill software or Autodesk Inventor &Vault.
• Development of effective working relationships with Rittal customers who are household names in the IT and Social Media networks.
• The use of design tools such as DFMEA and tolerance analysis.
• Participation in & leading design reviews.
• Speaking directly and regularly with customers to establish their needs and update
• them on their projects.
• FE Analysis of products.

Qualifications:
• BEng in Mechanical / Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent.

Skills and Experience:
Essential
• Use of 3D Design Software.
• Incorporating design for Manufacture and Assembly into Engineering Design.
Desirable
• Knowledge of Electrical or Cooling systems design would be an advantage
• Knowledge in Sheet metal production processes
• Using Creo and / or Inventor CAD for 3D modelling and drawing to standards.
• The use of design tools such as DFMEA and tolerance analysist to Automotive
• standards.
• Experience with FEA, static and dynamic analysis
• Working in a Design Office within a Sheet Metal manufacturing environment.
• Client liaison and project management Design experience.
• Experience working with external customers and carrying out design reviews?

This role will also offer you a brilliant rewards package which includes:
• A salary up to £35,000 depending on experience.

This is a full-time position, based on 39 hours a week Monday – Friday
