Job summary

Telent Technology Services Ltd, part of M Group, is seeking a Graduate Design Services Engineer to join our Transport Asset Management design team. You will deliver traffic signal design projects for national clients including Transport for London and Highways England, with weekly travel across the UK.

You’ll support feasibility studies, design development, and site inspections while growing your professional skills through Telent’s development programmes and this national exposure.

Qualifications

Recent graduate in Civil, Electrical, Design Engineering or Maths (or due this year).
Highly motivated with a professional attitude.
Good communication skills and a positive approach to meet business and customer requirements.
Flexible to work away from home on occasions.
Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and work under pressure.
Must be able to use AutoCAD.
Full UK/EU driving licence.

Responsibilities

Conduct feasibility assessments, analysis, and preliminary and detailed design.
Carry out on-site inspections, surveys and commissioning.
Create technical designs in line with approved procedures.
Prepare technical specifications and documentation.
Maintain health, safety and environmental awareness and report incidents.
Attend client meetings and ensure high levels of service.

About The Role

We’re looking for a Graduate Design Services Engineer to join a well-established design team within our Transport Asset Management division, where you will deliver traffic signal design projects for a number of different customers nationally, including Transport for London, Highways England and many local authorities.

The role will see you split your week, spending 2-3 days per week on average travelling to various locations nationwide. You will need to be flexible and have a full UK driving licence.

You’ll play a key part in providing services for monitoring and controlling road usage, providing up‑to‑date traffic information and above all keeping road users safe.

What You’ll Be Doing

Undertake feasibility assessments, analysis, preliminary and details design.
Undertake on‑site inspections, surveys and commissioning
Preparation of technical designs in‑line with approved design procedures
Preparation of technical specifications and documents
Health, safety and environmental awareness - reporting any incidents
Attend meetings with clients and ensure clients are receiving a high level of service

What You’ll Bring

We’re looking for a recent Graduate that has studied Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Design Engineering or Maths (or are due to graduate this year)
Highly motivated individual who demonstrates a professional attitude
Good communication skills are essential, along with a positive approach to meet the demands of the business and customer requirements
Flexible approach to work and be prepared to work away from home on occasions
Ability to react to changing circumstances and work under pressure
Ability to use AutoCAD
Full UK/EU driving licence
