Job description

DESIGN ASSISTANT (12 month contract)

At the cutting edge of fashion, Pentex is a global design and manufacturing business with its headquarters in the heart of London. We have been established for over 30 years and are an expanding business with a worldwide client base.

Role & Responsibilities
  1. Filing, managing production samples, and general admin duties across the design team.
  2. Manage processing of garments, ensuring the best presentation for the customer. Update trackers and systems with photos and sent-out details.
  3. Work closely with the technical department to ensure samples are specified on time.
  4. Ensure samples and parcels are sent out to customers in a timely manner.
  5. Set up new style numbers on PLM with all relevant fabric and trim details.
  6. Send patterns & fabrics to factories for sampling and update the system and trackers with all details.
  7. Manage the in-house sampling process, ensuring styles are cut and made to schedule.
  8. Prepare fabric packs & boards.
  9. Support with preparation for customer meetings.
  10. Create detailed specification sheets and request patterns.
  11. Liaise with factories and mills through the sampling process where necessary. Track fabrics, trims, and samples.
  12. Support designers in research, creating boards, shop reports, and style sketches.
