Graduate Data Analyst – Mathematics, Operational Research, Statistics or Econometrics

Are you a numerically gifted graduate looking to kick-start a career in data analytics?

We’re working with a respected client based in Central London, who is looking to grow their analytical team with a bright and motivated Graduate Data Analyst.

If you hold a degree (or master’s) in a quantitative discipline such as Mathematics, Operational Research, Statistics, or Econometrics, and are passionate about working with data to deliver real world insights, this could be your ideal first step.

About the Role

This is a full-time, office-based position with excellent transport links. As a Data Analyst, you’ll support two core areas:

• Quantification of financial claims
• Identification of legal cases through data analysis

You’ll be responsible for collecting, preparing, analysing, and presenting data, transforming raw information into clear, actionable insights.

Key Responsibilities

Validate and quality-check datasets received from clients and partners

• Prepare clear, annotated Excel reports with accurate analysis
• Make and justify assumptions when full datasets aren’t available
• Deliver comprehensive written reports, including methodologies and conclusions
• Present findings in well-structured, client-ready Word documents

What We’re Looking For

• A minimum 2:1 degree in a numerical/applied subject such as MORSE, Mathematics, Operational Research, Statistics, or Econometrics
• A relevant Master’s degree is a strong advantage
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (essential)
• Problem solving skills
• Experience managing large datasets using tools such as SAS, Stata, R, or Python
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail
• Comfortable working directly with clients and partners to obtain, validate, and interpret data
