Smile Education is working in partnership with a high-achieving secondary school in the M35 postcode area, currently seeking a Humanities/STEM Cover Supervisor. If you're considering a future in teaching or simply want to gain meaningful classroom experience, this role could be your perfect starting point.


Role Overview:

  • Position: Humanities/RE Cover Supervisor
  • Location: Failsworth (M35)
  • Start Date:September 2025
  • Pay: £90 – £120 per day (based on experience)
  • Age Group: Key Stage 3 & 4
  • Contract: Full-Time

What You’ll Do:
  • Lead and supervise pre-planned Humanities and RE lessons in the absence of the class teacher.
  • Create a calm and engaging classroom environment, supporting positive behaviour and learning outcomes.
  • Work with students on a 1:1 and small group basis to boost their confidence and academic progress.
  • Collaborate with a passionate teaching team committed to student development.

Who We’re Looking For:
  • A recent graduate or someone with a relevant degree or PGCE (QTS welcome but not required).
  • A positive role model with a genuine interest in education.
  • Experience working with young people – tutoring, mentoring or classroom-based experience is a plus.
  • Confident classroom presence and strong communication skills.
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to apply through Smile Education).
