Job summary

Multifab Metals Engineering Ltd in Peterborough is seeking an Assistant / Graduate Contracts Manager to join their commercial team. This role is ideal for a recent graduate or trainee looking to build a career in the steel industry.

The successful candidate will support project management tasks, engage with senior managers, and gain hands-on experience managing live projects. Offers include 20 days of annual leave and opportunities for career progression.

Qualifications

• Degree or relevant qualification in Construction, Project Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
• Previous experience (placement or trainee level) within construction or steelwork is advantageous.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Support the preparation of tender enquiries and project documentation.
• Attend pre-contract, design, and project meetings with senior colleagues.
• Assist in day-to-day project management, including subcontractors, on-site teams, and logistics.
• Help manage changes in project scope, schedule, and costs.
• Keep project contracts up to date and assist with monthly financial reporting.
• Prepare and maintain detailed proposals, cost databases, and estimate logs.
• Provide project support to the team during busy periods, holidays, or absences.
