Decision Analysis Services Limited (DAS) is an independent professional services company. Since 2007 we have provided services globally to more than 200 client organisations within the energy, defence, government, transport, and health sectors. Based in offices from Glasgow to Sydney, we support clients across five continents.

We specialise in bridging the gap between strategic planning and operational execution, developing enduring solutions to the uniquely complex issues faced by our clients. We are experts in programme management, systems thinking, investment modelling, machine learning (ML), and data analysis. These unique skills, coupled with our extensive experience of engineering, regulatory practices and operations delivery enable us to develop sustainable, long-term solutions for our clients.

The Role

We are hiring for a Graduate Consultant to join our Analytics + Foresight Hub, an expert data team that sits within our Systems Consulting Practice. Applicants should have a genuine interest in operational research. In particular, improving the design and effectiveness of business systems through data analysis and insights. Broadly, your role will be to provide insights based on data. As a Graduate Consultant at DAS Ltd, you will:

  • Aid the delivery of highly complex projects with national impact
  • Have experienced various data analysis practices during your study or through work experience: combining datasets, discrete event simulations, and data visualisation, for example
  • Be interested in the data outputs such as optimisation results, scenario comparisons, system performance metrics, and focus on applying data storytelling, user-focused design, and clear insight communication to deliver actionable insights to clients
  • Drive efficiency and continuous improvement through each phase of a project and identify opportunities to add value
  • Demonstrate core consulting skills, such as listening and questioning, and the ability to build strong working relationships both with our clients, and the wider team at DAS Ltd
  • Collaborate with a team of experts in:

- Analytics
- Systems modelling
- Futures approaches

  • Engage in all stages of project delivery, as required:

- Requirements capture
- Data collection and preprocessing
- Model development and evaluation
- Presenting results

  • Work collaboratively with a multifaceted network of stakeholders, maintaining effective relationships across all levels of the organisation

Apply to DAS if you want to work on varied, complex projects within a business that values your development, where no two days are alike, and where you’ll have a tangible impact on critical infrastructure in the UK.

Requirements

About You

You have a keen interest in data analysis and data outputs. You will enjoy learning and developing your technical skills with hands-on delivery of consultancy assignments directly to clients, working independently or within client/consultant teams, and contributing to the continued development of the practice.

Applicants should be able to demonstrate:

  • Degree or equivalent within a STEM or statistically based field (science, technology, engineering, maths, or psychology)
  • Knowledge in the development and application of data visualisation and dashboarding skills: taking difficult data and making it digestible
  • The ability to learn and build understanding of complex subject matter at a fast pace
  • Self-motivation and proactivity
  • Great analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal, including conveying technical results to a non-technical audience
  • UK nationality and UK primary residency for the past 5 years

In return for your skills, we offer a genuinely people focussed culture. DAS is dedicated to offering more than just a job. We're committed to cultivating your professional development and success. Employee wellbeing is at the forefront of our thinking. We actively support a healthy work-life balance and champion workplace flexibility, enabling you to prioritise the things that matter to you.

  • Private pension, private healthcare for you and your immediate family, and private dentalcare
  • Death-in-service and income protection schemes
  • 25 days holiday plus UK bank holidays, and additional days to work on environmental and community activities.
  • Discretionary office closure over Christmas
  • Personal carbon offset through company scheme
  • Access to professional and personal development platform, Udemy
