JDR Cable Systems Ltd. in Newcastle is hiring two Graduate Commercial Engineers to start their careers in a dynamic engineering and commercial environment.

You will support tendering, cost estimates and commercial proposals, working with engineering, procurement and project teams. This graduate role offers mentoring, UK hybrid working (three days in the office at our Newcastle facility, two days remote), and a path toward Chartered status with professional bodies.

Qualifikationen

• Degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Business, Finance or other relevant discipline.
• Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational abilities.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Confidence using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Ability to work collaboratively and manage competing priorities.
• Proactive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Experience in tendering, cost estimating or commercial activities is beneficial but not essential.

Aufgaben

• Review customer enquiries, specifications and tender documents.
• Support preparation of tender submissions and commercial quotations.
• Coordinate technical and commercial information from departments.
• Liaise with suppliers to obtain quotations and information.
• Assist with tender pricing, bid documentation and deadlines.
• Maintain accurate tender records and post-submission activities.
• Prepare and maintain project cost estimates and pricing breakdowns.
• Analyze material, labour, equipment and supplier costs.
• Support cost analysis, budget reviews and commercial reporting.
• Identify cost risks, discrepancies and opportunities for improvement.
