Job summary

Arup Graduate opportunity in Civil Engineering (Water) in Leeds. You will contribute to drainage, flood risk assessments and hydraulic modelling, working with experts across disciplines to shape sustainable solutions for water, site development and infrastructure.

The role is aimed at recent graduates with a Civil Engineering degree and UK work rights; visa sponsorship is not offered. You will gain exposure to client meetings, site visits, and project appraisals while developing practical design

The Opportunity

Our team of engineers, scientists and other professionals, in our Energy, Water and Resources group, work together to assess, supervise and design civil engineering works. We work on a wide range of projects, across a number of sectors, including; water, energy, site development, highways and rail. The projects come in all shapes and sizes, from local projects that shape and impact the places we live and work, to large infrastructure projects of national importance. Our role varies too, from things like flood risk and drainage assessments, to support planning applications, to detailed design of the engineering construction and utility infrastructure.

In this role you will:

• Carry out assessment, analysis, and design, preparing design reports, drawings, calculations, and specifications.
• Collaborate with Arup colleagues in other disciplines.
• Meet with clients, national agencies, local authorities, and other stakeholders, including site visits.
• Develop and appraise options and support the production of engineering solutions and business cases.
• Use specialist analysis and design software such as: InfoDrainage, GIS, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, ProjectWise, Navisworks, Flood Modeller, Tuflow, & InfoWorks.

For this opportunity, we are seeking the following qualifications, skills and attributes:

• A Bachelor's degree in relevant academic discipline, such as Civil Engineering.

We are seeking Skills and experience in:

• Drainage and flood risk management;
• Water and wastewater engineering;
• Site development and infrastructure design.
• Hydraulic modelling;
• Engineering calculations and technical reports;

• Full working rights in the country of application
• No more than 12 months of full-time experience in a comparable role
• Recently graduated, or on track to graduate, from your most recent degree, related to your role of choice, before employment starts.
