Job summary

Penguin Recruitment Ltd in Norwich is seeking a Graduate Civil Engineer to join a supportive consultancy. You will work on residential, commercial and infrastructure projects across the UK, gaining hands-on design experience and mentoring towards chartership.

You will assist with civil design and delivery, prepare drawings and calculations, and use software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D and PDS. The position offers a salary of £28,000–£32,000 and hybrid working with career progression.

Qualifications

• A degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Recent graduate or up to two years’ relevant experience.
• Good numeracy, analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Collaborative approach and a willingness to learn.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; exposure to civil engineering design software would be beneficial.
• A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Assist with design and delivery of civil engineering projects, including roads, bridges, drainage and water supply infrastructure.
• Contribute to projects across residential, commercial, retail, data centre and anaerobic digestion developments.
• Prepare engineering drawings, calculations, technical reports and specifications.
• Develop skills using design software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, PDS and Causeway Flow.
• Attend site visits and surveys alongside experienced engineers.
• Work collaboratively with planners, architects and other engineering professionals.
• Build your technical knowledge through mentoring, training and continuing professional development, with support towards chartership.
