Job summary

The Scottish Government invites graduates to join the Transport Scotland Graduate Scheme in Civil Engineering. This ICE/CIHT accredited program offers a clear path to Chartered status while developing your skills for senior professional roles in the industry.

From 2006, the scheme has guided graduates through a bespoke training program with internal rotations and external secondments to design consultancies and construction sites, building broad experience in planning and engineering.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree(s) accredited by the Engineering Council (EngC).
• Most candidates will be in final year of studies and on track to achieve qualification before Sep 2027.
• Proven ability to develop as a civil engineer and civil servant.

Responsibilities

• Participate in Rotations across Directorates and external secondments.
• Develop skills in planning, engineering, and project management.
• Support Ministers and serve the people of Scotland.
