Job summary

Kier Group in Worksop seeks a Graduate Civil Engineer to join the Infrastructure team and support on the Severn Trent project. Starting salary £31,000 with potential £4,750 car allowance, on a permanent 2-year programme leading toward an assistant-level role with salary potential around £38k.

Role involves on-site and design-based work, rotation across teams, and delivery of designs, schedules and budgets. UK driving licence and ICE-accredited degree are prerequisites.

Qualifications

• Graduating in 2027 or within the past three years with an ICE-accredited Civil Engineering degree or working towards one.
• Demonstrates genuine interest in civil engineering and construction, with motivation to learn.
• Attention to detail, analytical thinking, and ability to work in a team.
• Holds a full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparation and management of project designs, plans and specifications.
• Support development and monitoring of project schedules and budgets.
• Conduct site visits to ensure compliance with design specs, safety and quality.
• Collaborate with project managers and engineers to solve technical issues.
• Prepare technical reports, documentation and provide project updates.

As a Graduate Civil Engineer, you'll be an essential part of our engineering team, helping to shape the future of construction across the UK. You'll have the chance to work in a variety of teams, either on-site where the action happens or in a design-based role, depending on where your interests lie.

What will your day-to-day duties include?

• Assisting in the preparation and management of project designs, plans, and specifications
• Supporting the development and monitoring of project schedules and budgets.
• Conducting site visits to ensure compliance with design specifications, safety standards, and quality requirements
• Collaborating with project managers and engineers to solve technical issues and ensure project success
• Preparing technical reports, documentation, and providing project updates

What are we looking for?

We're looking for people due to graduate in 2027, or have recently graduated within the past three years, with a degree (or working towards a degree) which is ICE accredited in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or a closely related discipline.
