Overview

Our client is an award-winning, ambitious multidisciplinary consultancy group with a strong technical reputation. They deliver civil, structural, geotechnical and geoenvironmental engineering solutions across the UK, and their work is predominantly residential, for major housebuilders, alongside a portfolio of commercial projects.

They are now seeking a graduate Civil Engineer to join their dynamic team. You’ll support the planning, design and delivery of infrastructure and development projects across a range of sectors. No previous industry experience is needed — just a civil engineering degree, curiosity and the drive to develop your professional competence. You’ll be mentored by experienced engineers and supported on your path to chartership.

This is a great opportunity to join a fast-growing consultancy with a family feel culture that offers clear progression and professional support for your career development.

Responsibilities
  • Help produce detailed civils designs — highways, external levels and plot drainage for residential developments – building up to completing designs independently
  • Support site appraisals, drainage feasibility studies and Flood Risk Assessments (FRAs)
  • Help prepare, submit and manage statutory approvals, including Section 38 (Highways) and Section 104 (Water Industry Act) agreements
  • Liaise with approval bodies, including Lead Local Flood Authorities (LLFA) in England and Sustainable Drainage Approval Bodies (SAB) in Wales
  • Collaborate with internal multidisciplinary teams, clients and external stakeholders to meet project milestones
Requirements
  • A degree in Civil Engineering (BEng, MEng or BSc) — recent and soon-to-be graduates welcome
  • No previous industry background required
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical information
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, Causeway Flow, PDS, Civil 3D or MicroDrainage is a bonus — training provided
  • Effective written and verbal communication
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
On offer
  • Competitive graduate salary
  • Structured mentoring from experienced civils engineers
  • Support towards ICE professional qualification (IEng / CEng)
  • Hands-on project work from day one
  • Clear career progression in an ambitious, growing group
  • Employee Assistance Programme
