Job description

My client, a highly-respected, diverse Multidisciplinary Consultancy is searching for a Graduate Civil Engineer with a focus on Flood Risk and Drainage to join their growing team of engineering and design experts, in the centrally-located city of Sheffield.

Essential Criteria:

  • A Degree in Civil Engineering
  • Working knowledge of flood risk and drainage strategies, including Flood Risk Assessments (FRAs), and Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS)
  • Knowledge of the relevant Section Agreements involved (S104, S106, etc.)
  • Knowledge of InfoWorks ICM, TUFLOW, Flood Modeller, InfoDrainage, and various other software packages
  • The ability to work as part of a team, and on your own initiative
  • A willingness to learn and consistently develop technical skills as you progress through your career

It would also be beneficial for applicants for the role of Graduate Civil Engineer to have the following skills:

  • Some professional experience, particularly with flood risk and drainage
  • Working knowledge of a range of additional software packages
  • Excellent time management and communication skills

As a Graduate Civil Engineer, you will be joining a team of expert design engineers, working on a number of varied, high-profile projects across the region. As you progress through your career, you will take on a range of different responsibilities, including the following:

  • Contributing to a range of flood risk projects and drainage strategies
  • Working with the wider team to ensure project goals are delivered to the highest standard, within given timeframes and budgetary restrictions
  • Undertaking the relevant technical analysis using the appropriate software packages
  • Preparing and issuing accurate technical information regarding projects, including calculations, models, and drawings
  • Liaising with clients and other stakeholders across the public and private sectors
  • Contributing to, and carrying out, site meetings and inspections
  • Developing and maintaining client relations
  • Contributing to projects, adhering to industry standards, designated budgets, and agreed timelines
