Graduate Civil Engineer

My client are looking for graduates with a flexible approach and an appetite to learn within an energetic engineering consultancy. You will be working in a collaborative environment and can apply your skills whilst working with a diverse range of clients and projects. The Role:

1. Working within multi-discipline project teams helping us deliver effective and professional services.
2. Providing technical input to projects including organising and managing site-based investigations, analysing data and managing project tasks.
3. Interacting with civil engineers who will provide guidance and review as you:
1. Collate data and documentation to be used on projects.
2. Undertake civil engineering design calculations.
3. Develop design solutions using various 2D and 3D design tools, engineering sketches and drawings.
4. Prepare civil engineering design deliverables including specifications, calculations, drawings and schedules.
5. Provide support and input to the preparation of technical notes and reports at various project stages including feasibility, preliminary/planning, detailed design and construction.
6. Participate in preparing development documents and drawings.
7. Provide input to resolving issues during construction.
8. Provide input to design risk assessments.
9. Support civil engineers and directors in client (internal or external) discussions during design team meetings, progress updates or project reviews.
10. Utilise quality assurance systems to help ensure the efficient execution of a project.

Your Experience:

1. Educated to a Degree level in Civil Engineering.
2. Professional membership or working towards professional membership with a recognised engineering institution.
3. Excellent report writing, communication and numerical skills required.
4. A positive and proactive approach.
5. A good technical understanding of civil engineering principles.
6. A willingness to visit operational and construction sites as required.
7. Some knowledge of design tools and software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Micro Drainage is desirable but not essential.
