Job summary

Kier Group plc in the United Kingdom is seeking a Graduate Civil Engineer to join our expanding engineering team. You’ll gain hands-on experience across on-site and design-based roles, supporting projects from early design through to delivery.

Starting September 2027, the programme is a permanent, full-time 2-year pathway leading to an assistant level role with salary potential. The starting salary is around £31,000 per year with a car allowance up to £4,750, contingent on eligibility.

Job description

As a Graduate Civil Engineer, you'll be an essential part of our engineering team, helping to shape the future of construction across the UK. You'll have the chance to work in a variety of teams, either on-site where the action happens or in a design-based role, depending on where your interests lie.

What will your day-to-day duties include?

• Assisting in the preparation and management of project designs, plans, and specifications
• Supporting the development and monitoring of project schedules and budgets.
• Conducting site visits to ensure compliance with design specifications, safety standards, and quality requirements
• Collaborating with project managers and engineers to solve technical issues and ensure project success
• Preparing technical reports, documentation, and providing project updates

• Practical experience: gain valuable hands‑on experience in your field.
• Skill improvement: develop technical and professional skills.
• Networking: build professional relationships and expand your network., We're looking for people due to graduate in 2027, or have recently graduated within the past three years, with a degree (or working towards a degree) which is ICE accredited in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or a closely related discipline.
