Arup is looking for a Graduate Bridges and Civil Structures Engineer in Leeds. You will contribute to design, assessment, and construction planning for a wide range of bridge projects and civil structures, from concept through to construction.

The role involves 3D modelling with Revit and Tekla, strong numerical work, and collaboration with clients and multidisciplinary teams to deliver practical solutions that meet project needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Strong numerical, analytical and communication skills.
• Interest in design, construction planning and 3D modelling with industry tools.

Responsibilities

• Assist in design of bridge and civil structures from concept to construction.
• Produce technical reports and calculations.
• Collaborate with clients and other disciplines to develop practical designs.

The Opportunity

We have a wide portfolio of exciting UK and International projects working in the transport, energy and water sectors. Our clients include Government Agencies, Local Authorities, Contractors and Developers. We undertake every aspect of bridge design, assessment, construction planning and structural health monitoring from pedestrian bridges through to long span cable supported bridges on projects such as the New Wear Footbridge, Gull Wing Bridge, Forth Bridge, TransPennine Rail Upgrade and High Speed 2. We undertake the design and construction planning of major Civil Structures such as tunnel shafts and portals, cut and cover tunnels, underground pumping stations and offshore wind platforms. • Design of all elements with respect toBridge and Civil Structuresprojects
• Technical report writing and calculations
• Working on projects from concept, right through to construction.
• Working with Clients & other disciplines within Arup to develop designs
• Work in 3D using Revit, Tekla and other drawing packages

• Strong numerical skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Interest in and application of digital skills, such as computer coding for design automation and problem-solving is an advantage
• Demonstrable understanding of general bridge and structural behaviour and an ability to use this understanding to develop practical solutions to meet Client needs
• A bachelor's degree in relevant academic discipline, such as Civil Engineering
